10 events for 2010...
The Impreza WRX Owners Club of South Australia Inc. is pleased to announce that S&J Automotive is sponsoring our 2008 Club Championship, continuing their ongoing support for this series since 2003. A hearty ‘Thanks’ to Sean and Joanne! S&J Automotive supply a complete range of products & services for the WRX and Evo enthusiast. Visit their website for a rundown on the quality services they can provide you and support one of the businesses that support WRXSA.
This year the Club Championship Series involved 3 circuit super sprints at Mallala, 3 hill climbs at Collingrove near Angaston and 4 tarmac motorkhanas held near Monato, providing competitors with different types of driving challenges. See the Motorsport/Events section for more detail.
Participate in the whole series, or just one event, the aim here is for club motor sport that is friendly, safe, fun and fair spirited. You are also welcome to come out and just watch the events, there is always plenty to see.
A Handicap System to keep things fair, and lots of prizes too...
The round winners are determined from an entrant's best time of the day plus a time handicap based on your car's modifications. So the competition is kept fair and everyone has a chance of winning irrespective of their car's mod's. Point's from your worst 4 round of the series are dropped from your end of year total too, so you can miss up to 4 events and still have an equal shot at the title. For the first time a point will be given to everyone finishing 8th or lower as a reward for attending more rounds.
S&J Automotive have generously continued their sponsorship of gift vouchers for each events which will be presented at the end of the season. $100 S&J Automotive gift voucher for 1st place and a $50 gift voucher for Most Improved or Best Newcomer. Trophies will go to the top 3 competitors at the end of the year. In addition, the overall championship winner will receive a very special automotive prize organised by S&J Automotive to the value of approximately $1,000. Watch this space for more details!
The Spirit of the Series...
It is stressed that while there is a competitive element to these events, at the end of the day it is more about having some fun in your WRX is a safe environment. You will hopefully also learn some more about how the car performs and improve your driving skills too. And the group of club members who enter these events are a friendly lot and there is always a good atmosphere at the events.

In addition, your typical motor vehicle insurance policy does not provide cover during such events.
